About Spasms

"Spasms are purely a reaction - they are not due to a condition or injury."

When the brain is affected through an injury or a condition, our brain immediately creates an element of fear where the body becomes restricted.

Spasms are neurological tensions to which the body reacts.

Spasms are always unexpected, sporadic and out of our control. This indicates that spasms are an unconscious drive towards movement.

When energy builds up in the body there is an urge to move, but due to paralysis and tension, the energy cannot increase into full movement. Instead, the energy reverts to a vibration bouncing back and forth between the conscious and the unconscious, creating spasms.

Spasms can be extreme. Our sensitivity heightens and we react to the slightest movement, sound or vibration. Spasms will only become controlled once the state of mind has been altered.

Spasms can be relaxed so that they do not affect us, as well as be built upon so that the energy is transferred into movement.

At The Mind Clinic individuals learn to control spasms through mind instruction.

Applying relaxation techniques will result in the spasms easing. Physical movements and exercises will disperse suppressed energy so the spasms are less frequent and under control.

Spasms react to nerve-muscle activity. Working the body and relaxing the mind can ease spasms and more often than not make them disappear. Spasms form a contributing aspect in mental-physical rehabilitation.
